The Tutors for this years masterclass are

Niels UllnerNiels Ullner, Cello

Niels Ullner was a private student of prof. Asger Lund Christiansen and made his further studies abroad with Pierre Fournier, William Pleeth and Mstislav Rostropovitj a.o.

He was employed in The Danish Radio Orchestra from 1977, but from 1985 he is 1. solo cellist in Malmö Symphony Orchestra.

Niels Ullner is also a busy chamber musician, soloist and teacher. Since his employment as docent with Danish National Academy of Music in 2000 he has succeeded  in building up a class at the highest level. In 2010 he was announced professor at Danish National Academy of Music with responsibility for the cello teaching and for organizing the orchestral education.

Further more Niels Ullner is often requested for masterclasses and as a jury member in Denmark and abroad.



Bjarne Hansen, Violin

Bjarne Hansen was first signed in Odense Symphony Orchestra in 1974 and from 1981 to 2011, when he turned 60, he was the concertmaster of the orchestra.

Here after he played with the Royal Danish Orchestra, but is now back as a first violinist in Odense.

In 2011 he was granted the Sydbanks Regional Music Award and he has played as a soloist with Odense Symphony Orchestra and Vejle Symphony Orchestra ao.

We are very thrilled to have an instructor of Bjarne Hansen’s statue with his huge experience in orchestral playing, in chamber music and as a soloist.

Jette JokumsenJette Jokumsen, Violin

Jette Jokumsen is a violinist from Fredericia. She has her diploma from The Royal Danish Academy of Music and continued her studies in Germany with Christian Tetzlaff and in Den Haag in the Nederlands where she got a master degree.

She is a free-lance violinist and have played with most of the major danish orchestras, sinfoniettas and chamber orchestras.

She has great success as a theacher at Middelfart Music School where she works with children until academy-level. We are happy to have this representation of a local master.

Jette Jokumsen is a member of the chamber ensemble Ensemble Trialog with cellist, Ida Franck and pianist Birtt Krogh Grønnebæk

Morten Østergaard have studied at Det Fynske Musikkonservatorium as well as Kungliga Musikhögskolan in Stockholm.

He has a lot of experience with chamber music and has been a part of Mälarkvintetten, Den Fynske Blæserkvintet as well as the basson quartet Särimner from Stockholm with which he won first price at the first International Bassoon Compitision.

Since 2000 he is the solo basson of Odense Symphony Orchestra.

Morten Østergaard is also a docent at the Danish National Academy of Music and has for several years been teaching at the Carl Nielsen Masterclass. We are very happe to have him back this year.

Mogens Andresen, TromboneMogens Andresen

After working with the Falster Infantry Regimental Band in Vordingborg and the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, in 1974 Mogens Andresen became a bass trombonist in the Royal Danish Orchestra. In 1988-2013 Mogens Andresen was appointed professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and head off brass. Mogens Andresen was a co-founder of a brass ensemble from The Royal Danish Orchestra and played Baroque trombone in the ensembles the Rosenborg Trio and Den Danske Violonbande.  With these ensembles he has made many recordings and has toured in Europe and USA. At the Royal DanishAcademy of Music Mogens has formed a brass ensemble and a big band and with them visited European music academies in Scotland, Poland, Czech Republic,Portugal, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Latvia. The ensembles are todaycontinuing respectively as DANIABRASS ENSEMBLE and DANIA BIG BAND as professional ensembles.

Author of a trombone tutor book as well as books on the history of brass instruments. Writer of ROYAL DANISH ORCHESTRA The World’s Oldest Orchestral Institution.

Composer and arranger of music for brass published on BRASSMUSICONLINE.DK. His compositions and arrangements are performed  worldwide, among others: The Brass Ensemble of the Concertgebow  Orchestra, German Brass, Brass Enslemble of the Berlin Philharmonic, The Danish trombone Quartet, the Danish Brass Quintet and brass ensembles of all the Danish Symphony Orchestras and military Bands.

He has instructed and conducted a long line of brass ensembles at home and abroad.: DKDM-Brass, DKDM Big band, Millitary Band Fyn, Slesvigske Military Band, Schleswig-Holstein Festival orchestra brass-ensemble, Jeunesses Musicales orchestra’s brass-ensemble, Flexible Brass (Holland), Riga City Big Band, Riga opera Brass Ensemble, Brass ensemble from The royal Danish Lifeguards Band, Royal Danish Brass, Copenhagen Brass and students from conservatories in i Amsterdam, Oslo, Glasgow, Stockholm, Riga, Indianna USA etc . Have been invited to judge “International trombone association” competitions on several occasions.

The concert master of this years orchestre will be AmaliAmalie Elmarke Elmark. Amalie is one of the foremost danish talents at the moment. She has studied at the Juilliard School of Music in New York with Stephen Clapp and at the Royal Danish Academy of Music with Eszter Haffner. At the moment she is living and studying in Wien with Gerhard Schulz at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst.

As soloist Amalie has performed with a series of the danish orchestras as Amadeus Ensemble, Dusika Symphony Orchestra and The Danish Youth Ensemble where she earlier also was concert master.
